Start the New Year by attending an important Boulder Tomorrow meeting. On Thursday January 11, 2007 we will meet at 7:45am at the Millennium Harvest House (upstairs).

We will have a presentation and a great breakfast all for only $20. Have breakfast, learn something and be ready to tackle the day by 9am.

Our subject is "Healthy Growth and Change in a City" by Ervin Bell, Architect, AIA. Erv will discuss how a city is like a growing and ever changing organism that needs to be nourished and guided in its growth. Erv will give a brief history of modern city planning then will give an introduction to the most innovative movement in planning in the past 50 years, New Urbanism. The movement has developed principals and tools of planning for "nourishing to the city" such as "form based zoning". Discussion will be encouraged!

Mr. Bell received a BS in Architectural Engineering and BS in Business from CU Boulder and a MA in Architecture from UC Berkeley. His master's Thesis was "Urban Development Investment game, UDIG". Ervin has taught Architecture and Urban Design at the University of Oklahoma and the University of Colorado, Boulder and Denver. Mr. Bell has extensive experience working in Boulder planning and developing several local developments. He also served on Boulder's Planning Board for five years, from 1980 to 1985.
