What are the impacts of a local employment tax on the Boulder economy?

Methodology and Data

The analysis used micro-data for Boulder and other communities, as available. Telephone surveys, public documents, and other reports were used to obtain consistent primary and secondary data. Data references are available form the authors of the study, and range from federal agencies (e.g., U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics), state and regional agencies (e.g.. Denver Regional Council of Governments), and local communities (e.g. City of Boulder) to private sources (such as several commercial real estate company reports and available property databases)

The analysis was completed using comparative and mathematical approaches. The authors are wholly responsible for the analysis, findings, and implications discussed in this report. Again, this study was sponsored research, but the sponsors did not assist in the data selection or collection, analysis, or report findings.
