Tomorrow...

Calonne expressed his happiness of the work his department so far. Of concern, however, was the upcoming retirement of baby-boomers and with it the vacuum of skilled attorneys needed for his department. Calonne suggested his idea of recruiting law students for fellowships to both temporarily fill the void and build a database of potential employees.

Calonne emphasized the need for the Boulder Tomorrow organization and its continued action in the government. He cited Colorado's rich history of ranchers and miners and their distrust for national government. From this, explained Calonne, came a form of government that thrives on input from all parts of the community, including the business sector. This was exemplified on Tuesday's election with 2A failing due, in part, by Boulder Tomorrow's efforts.
