Economic Vitality Progarm

The Program

While young and relatively weak in capital comparative to surrounding communities, Boulder's Economic Vitality Program is beginning to see progress. The program is currently working with numerous local businesses such as Café Gondolier, E-Town, and Snarfs to grow current businesses and attract those looking to move to the area. Liz Hanson spoke of seeing signs that the program is on the move. Previously where the department went out searching for the businesses that were leaving, now the staff receives tips on companies that are considering relocating out of Boulder.

The Vitality Program is an import tool in maintaining and growing Boulder's economic well-being. The continued funding of programs such as this one are important and necessary in the struggle towards maintaining a positive business climate.

Most recently, Boulder City Council approved the Business Incentive Pilot Program which includes a variety of benefits, including: a flexible rebate program, employee training assistance, owner-occupied loan pool, and parks and recreation employee discount program.
