A Brief History
Ned began the discussion with a general overview of the city's water supply and usage. Water rights are always an important issue, especially within Colorado. Boulder itself currently owns the rights to 40 water rights decrees worth approximately $370 million. Water sources include Barker Reservoir, Lakewood Reservoir and Silver Lake Watershed that can be processed at one of Boulder's two water treatment facilities. Boulder has enjoyed these generous resources, being without an unfulfilled need since the 2002 drought. Continuing with this trend, it has been projected that there will be no water restrictions in 2007.
