City of Boulder Ballot Questions YES on 2B & 2D.

Boulder Tomorrow recommends a Yes vote on City of Boulder City Ballot Questions 2B & 2D.

City Ballot Question 2B (Executive Sessions) would allow the City Council to meet in executive session to discuss sensitive matters in which premature public disclosure would be contrary to the public interest. Executive sessions would be permitted only to: discuss confidential issues relating to the purchase, acquisition, lease, transfer or sale of property; receive confidential legal advice on a specific case or question: discuss confidential details of security arrangements or investigations; discuss confidential issues relating to ongoing negotiations and negotiating strategy or to discuss hiring and personnel matters concerning one of the councils three employees.

Ballot Question 2D (Extend Lease Terms) would allow the city to grant a lease of streets or public places or property for a period of up to forty years (rather than the current maximum of twenty years) upon approval by a two-thirds vote of all council members.
